Academic Projects and Testimonials
Apart from the projects I worked on at my internship and capstone, I led and participated in multiple projects where I had to apply my skills and knowledge to complete. All the projects shown received great feedback from the faculty at Liberty University.
Relevant Projects
Bus Routes Optimization/Simulation
Led a team of 4 people where we had to optimize the bus routes at Liberty university. The goal of this project was to use our operations research and simulation skills so that we could minimize the running cost of the buses while accommodating as many students as possible. Amazon Locker Optimization
Worked within a team of 3 people where we had to build lockers at different locations in a specific area that contains 300 customers while satisfying some restrictions using a metaheuristic approach. The goal of this project was to minimize the total cost of locker installation and travelling distance of customers while satisfying the restrictions. Warehouse Automation/Optimization
Led a team of 3 people where we had to automate and optimize an entire warehouse, maximize flow for shipping, and analyze data in order to pinpoint areas of improvement. The goal of this project was to create a program that assists management with warehousing decisions, minimize travel distance to shipping, and maximize profits. We created a decision support system using VBA that uses different industrial engineering techniques like linear programming, and simulated annealing to reach our goal. “Yaz was one my first hires for Qualitest/Google in Austin. His friendly demeanor, ability to work with others, and technical skill made Yaz an ideal hire. Since his hire, he has helped build and operate a $2M/year revenue team for Qualitest/Google. Yaz always has a friendly word and smile for everyone. At the same time, he is comfortable diving into the technical details of multi-language support for Google's search engine. Yaz has rapidly developed leadership skills during his time at Qualitest/Google. He has taken on team lead responsibilities while maintaining his own deliverables. Yaz is a great hire and will do well in any organization.”
